My Monthly
Philanthropy

I've set up
sustaining monthly
contributions
to
these organizations
I care about:

Since their first
delivery in 1972,
Meals on Wheels
Central Texas

has been driven
by one simple
goal:
to improve
the health and
well-being of
homebound
older adults.

They were there
for my parents
who had dementia
every single day
with warm meals.
I know how real
the need is for
this service and
pledged to
continue
supporting
their efforts
moving forward.
_______
and

I support my local
public television
[KLRU]
and radio station
[KUT]
because I recognize
the importance of
substantive reporting,
the kind of
investigative
journalism
that digs deep,
delivers extended
coverage, and
presents a full picture
of current events.
I also support KLRU
because it is my
principal source of
entertainment –
I love
Masterpiece
Mysteries,
NOVA, and
classical music
productions.
When the ignorant
Trump MAGAttes
took away funding
for these important
media sources
(because Facts
challenged
their Spin)
I made it a point
to double my
monthly sustaining
membership.
_______

Finally, I offer
monthly support to the
Progressive Change
Campaign Committee

- - a million member
grassroots organization
building progressive
power at the
federal, state, and
local levels that
engages in electoral
and issue
advocacy work.
In these trying times,
their top focus
is saving democracy
and the planet.
PCCC organizes
on economic
populist priorities
like a wealth tax,
canceling student debt,
expanding Social Security,
corporate accountability,
worker rights,
and bold solutions
to climate change.
The PCCC has
raised over
$35 million in
grassroots donations
for progressive
candidates and
committees dedicated
to these priorities.

WHAT ARE MONTHLY MEDITATIONS?

Each month, I sit down to write about
the new month's holidays or observances.

I find it to be a therapeutic, mind-centering activity.

I discover my own sentiments and emotions
become clearer,
and at times suppressed thoughts
and feelings arise,
allowing me to see these monthly themes
in a more comprehensive perspective.

I enjoy reading your comments
 on these monthly meditations.

I love coffee!

I drink it morning through late afternoon.

Best Bean Ever!

While on vacation in Oregon I fell in love with the many varieties I discovered at Portland Coffee Roasters

I recommend both Morning (I love the milk chocolate and cherry finish.)

and Steel (Most popular blend. One taste and you’ll see why: it’s rich, smooth, and full of sweet toffee flavor. It tastes great as both a coffee or an espresso. An instant classic when introduced over 20 years ago.)

Since their founding in 1996, Portland Coffee Roasters has sourced their coffee directly from farmers while building sustainable relationships with them and the communities they support.
