Mom & Dad Wedding Day 1961

Arrival at Granger Brethren Church
 A surprise in a shoebox.

A set of photos
from my parent's
April 22, 1961 wedding
and honeymoon
that I'd
never seen before.

Enjoy!

Arrival at the Reception Hall

Let the Grand March begin!

Mom and Dad spent their Honeymoon at
The Cottonwood Inn, La Grange TX and
parked the Just Married car in side port.
They then proceeded to ...
take photos of themselves.

A year and 3 months later
they'd purchase the home
they'd live in together
for the next 61 years (below).
The pair of pink flamingos
were deeded over with the house.

A year after purchasing a home on 3 acres
in 1962 (pic above)
Dad moved the home of his parents
Sug and Lib to the same property.
It was the home he had been born in.
He and his dad built the adjacent
3-bay shed that same year.

I love this pic and counting all the
present features of the home that are
missing here:  no front steps, trees,
sidewalks, pave driveway.
But my favorite part is seeing
Grandpa's blue Ford once again.
