HOLIDAYS 2022!

The annual rotation for hosting of our
maternal side's extended family Christmas
fell into mine & my brother's lap this year.
Held at Granger's Catholic Church hall,
here I am with brother Kelly & wife Stacey,
nephew Trevor
[left of tree] & his wife Sam
(currently finishing up her studies at Baylor)
and
[right of tree] with her beau is my niece Lauren
(who graduated the day before from Texas A&M!)

Just a few of the cousins in our ever-growing family!

Love 'em! My sweet Aunts!
And one of my awesome Uncles!

I got to the Hall at 7:30 am
to make sure we had a tree.
Brought along Mom's collection
of Angel ornaments.
Mom couldn't be present,
but her angels & Christmas Tins
were reminders of her.

I invited Chad and his Mom over for the holidays
and he brought over this amazing
Butternut Squash galette
along with a Butternut Squash bisque.
Fabulous!
I made this Peace sign
for the side of my house.

Arne got a new stocking courtesy of Amazon!

My collection of
Texas State Capitol Christmas Ornaments
[Thank you Joe Ramirez!]

I love the red Christmas ornament
hanging on the back of my sleigh, it says
Veselé Vánoce! (Merry Christmas in Czech)

Holy Nativity

I lit up my folk's circle drive area,
including the flagpole flowerbox

I love to deck the halls with fresh evergreen --
gave my credenza quite a woodsy scene

The lesson of this season:

A man will never bring in the harvest he desires if he has failed to plant the seeds himself from which that harvest springs.

Let's all plant seeds of kindness and have no regard for the sowers of hate.

My favorite memories of this season are of the church Harvest Festival, candied apples, and Mom's wonderful desserts laced with our own family's harvest of pecans.

Today I went into Mom's She-shed, brushed cobwebs off storage tubs of seasonal decor and carried Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to my workshop. These are pics of what I chose to set out thus far.

Happy Harvest Time!
Terry and Arne

Homemade Ice Cream & Fireworks at Dusk

The ice cream fixins' bar adorned

Kathryn won the 4th door prize
A lovely tiara of stars

So happy our long-time neighbors the Harwell's
made it to the party. And Mark & Cindy brought
their prodigy - all grown up now,
my how fast that happened!

Seated around my patio we
O-o-o-ed and Ah-h-h-ed as the
City of Taylor
Fireworks Show Finale
lit up the sky above the
San Gabriel River's tree line
