SUMMER 2022

DayTrippin'
in San Antonio
  1. Botanical Gardens
  2. McNay Museum
  3. The Pearl
1.  Chad and I enjoyed
San Antonio's Botanical Gardens.

We arrived at 9 a.m. and there was a nice overcast that morning so a comfortable walk through the 30 acre site.
We were happy to see so many bees and hummingbirds throughout the flora.

I think my favorite location was the
Orchid house and then the succulents.

2.  The McNay mansion is gorgeous.

The Art museum currently has
two exhibits I wanted to see:

Georgia O’Keeffe and American Modernism

Picasso & Braque: Radicals
The Rodin
bronzes were
impressive
Picasso's take on
his 2nd wife!

Pink & Yellow
Hollyhocks;
O'Keeffe.

Paul Cadmus, What I Believe

David Ligare's Still Life with Apples and Vessel; 2014.
Very impressive how he captured the light in the cloth.

The Pearl district.

3. We also enjoyed brunch at
Three Sisters Bakery in Alamo Heights;
and ice cream and window shopping
at The Pearl district.

We capped off our day together with a
movie based on a book I loved
Where the Crawdads Sing.
